Haydarpaşa Postindustrial imaginations
We are excited to announce that Kadir Has University has organized a new design studio ‘Haydarpaşa │ Postindustrial imaginations’, focused on the significant urban landscape of Istanbul Haydarpasa Train station. The design studio addressing undergraduate level students is coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Birge Yıldırım Okta, as a part of the CONSIDER project.
Based on the theme of rethinking/reimagining Haydarapaşa as a post‐industrial heritage, the design studio brings the question of how an industrial heritage can be added to the city and that this area is a part of the daily life of the city through the discipline of architecture. By raising this question, the studio aims to reveal the urban memory of industrial production and critique the design problem as a part of this urban system.
